Porsche is expanding its range of options for the all-electric Cayenne. In addition to new design options, other technical innovations are also finding their way into the configurator. This applies both to the Cayenne Electric in its classic SUV format and to the even more striking Cayenne Coupé Electric.
Intelligent convenience: electric doors with automatic assistance
With the electrically operated doors that are now offered as an option for the first time, Porsche is significantly enhancing comfort and convenience in the Cayenne Electric. Servo motors take care of the virtually effortless opening and closing of all four doors. A brief pull on the door handle is all it takes – the rest of the movement is then carried out automatically. The doors can be controlled from both inside and outside via various means, including buttons in the cabin, the door handles, the Flow Display of the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system, and remotely via the Porsche Digital Key. The driver can also close the driver's door by fastening their seat belt or by pressing the brake pedal.
To ensure suitability for everyday use, the systems operate in one smooth action and can function even on inclines. Sensors continuously monitor the area around the doors and, if an obstacle or a person is detected, the automatic movement sequence stops. In combination with assistance features such as the exit warning system, the doors are also prevented from opening if other vehicles are approaching. Despite the automatic functionality, manual operation remains possible at all times.
Greater charging convenience at home: Porsche Wireless Charging
Porsche Wireless Charging introduces a particularly convenient form of charging that further simplifies everyday life with an electric vehicle. Instead of connecting a cable, it is only necessary to position the Cayenne Electric over a permanently installed ground pad – the charging process then begins automatically.
The system consists of three components: preparation for the required hardware on the vehicle, the vehicle pad, and the ground pad installed in the parking space. The latter is weatherproof and can also be installed outdoors. Energy is transferred wirelessly at a rate of up to 11 kW and with an efficiency of about 90 per cent.
Integrated safety mechanisms such as motion sensors and foreign object detection ensure safe operation. The charging process is automatically stopped if a living creature comes close to the vehicle or the ground pad or if a metallic object lies on the latter and heats up. All components of Porsche Wireless Charging are now available to order in Germany and other European markets. The system is being rolled out worldwide in stages¹.
New massage function: five programmes with selectable vibration massage
The massage function including 4D audio enables a completely new massage experience that is combined with music. The driver's and front passenger's seats each feature 16 air cushions and six sound actuators in the backrests and seat cushions with an intense, deep effect. There are five massage programmes to choose from with selectable vibration massage at various levels of intensity. The sound actuators integrated into the seat create a four-dimensional musical experience in the vehicle.
Both the desired massage programme and the intensity of the massage can be adjusted via the central display. In addition, the 4D audio function can also be activated independently of the massage function. The distribution and strength of the vibrations can also be adjusted. The massage function including 4D audio is also integrated into the Mood Modes. There are three additional Wellness Mood Modes to choose from, which create a unique experience by integrating the pneumatic massage function with vibration and specially curated sound experiences.
More than 100 shades for a high degree of individuality
In addition to 13 standard colours in the Contrasts, Shades, Dreams and Legends categories, the Cayenne Electric is now also part of the Paint to Sample programme from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. Together with the existing colours, this results in a total of 105 available paint shades. This variety offers customers even greater creative freedom.
New interior accents expand the range
The Interior Style Package, a ‘Director's Cut’ from the Style Porsche design studio and Exclusive Manufaktur, is already available as an option for all Cayenne Electric derivatives. It comprises a multitude of refined interior features that combine to create a harmonious two-tone design of black and exclusive green tones.
With the introduction of the new model year, Porsche is extending this range with the addition of the Extended Package Interior Style with additional leather trims and decorative stitching in Delgada Green. Other equipment options such as the leather/Race-Tex seat console in the front and rear, and interior sill trim panels upholstered in Race-Tex – each featuring coloured decorative stitching – take the customisation options for all Cayenne Electric models to a completely new level.
