At a glance
- Four drivers will battle for the overall title at the season finale at the Hockenheimring
- Rookie, ProAm and Team titles also remain undecided
- Eight race weekends in four countries: 2027 race calendar confirmed
Four drivers are still in contention: Championship leader Keagan Masters (Proton Competition) from South Africa, Porsche Junior Flynt Schuring (NL/Schumacher CLRT) and the two Germans Alexander Tauscher (Target) and Theo Oeverhaus (ID Racing). Both races will be broadcast live on the Porsche Motorsport Hub as well as on the Facebook and YouTube channels of the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland. TV partner ProSieben will also stream the races free of charge on its Joyn platform.
A maximum of 50 points are still up for grabs at the finale. Masters heads into the decisive weekend in the strongest position: The 26-year-old tops the standings with 210 points. If he wins both races in Hockenheim in his Porsche 911 Cup, the title is his. Schuring trails by seven points. The young talent from Amsterdam is the only driver to have already won five races this season. Two more victories would put him out of reach of his rivals. Tauscher has impressed with remarkable consistency this year. The third-placed driver has finished in the top five in eleven of the 14 races so far. Ahead of the finale at the circuit in Baden-Württemberg, the Target driver is 24 points behind championship leader Masters. Oeverhaus also remains in title contention: The 21-year-old is currently fourth in the standings. He kicked off the season with two victories and will need an exceptional performance in Hockenheim to make up his 27-point deficit.
The battles in the other classifications are equally close heading into the final race weekend. Chester Kieffer (Schumacher CLRT, 248 points) from Luxembourg and Dutchman Sam Jongejan (Team75 Bernhard, 237 points) are competing for the Rookie crown. In the ProAm category, Michael Essmann (D/Team75 Bernhard) sits on top with 288 points, followed by Sören Spreng (D/GP Elite) on 277. Proton Competition (347 points) leads the Team standings ahead of Schumacher CLRT (306 points). A maximum of 50 points remain available in each classification. The “Fastest Lap Award” will also be presented at the Hockenheimring. Whoever has set the highest number of fastest laps over the course of the season will receive the exclusive Porsche Design Chronograph 1 – All Black Numbered Edition.
The 4.574-kilometre circuit provides the stage for the showdown. A total of 17 corners, fast sections and heavy braking zones characterise the historic Hockenheimring. One of the best overtaking opportunities comes at the hairpin after the long Parabolika. Free practice and qualifying will get the final race weekend under way on Friday. Race 15 is scheduled to start at 10:50 on Saturday, before the 16th race of the season gets under way at 12:30 on Sunday.
Even before the 2026 champion has been decided, the race calendar for the 2027 Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland has already been confirmed. The first round will take place from 9 to 11 April in Imola, Italy, as part of the FIA World Endurance Championship WEC. Further stops as part of the DTM include the Red Bull Ring, set against the impressive Austrian mountain scenery, the Norisring as Germany’s only street circuit, Circuit Zandvoort on the Dutch North Sea coast and the historic Nürburgring. Following the event at the high-speed Monza circuit in Italy as part of the International GT Open, two further DTM weekends at the Sachsenring and the season finale at the Hockenheimring will complete the calendar. Each race weekend will feature two sprint races lasting 30 minutes plus one lap.
“Our teams and drivers can look forward to exciting racing in four countries, including two circuits currently on the Formula 1 calendar. The events as part of the DTM, the FIA WEC and the International GT Open provide an attractive setting. I am particularly pleased that we are returning to Monza after six years. The circuit is known around the world and has a unique magic of its own,” says Thorsten Rückert, Project Manager Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland.
